Karen says:
"Southwold's Alfred Corry Lifeboat Museum is one of many Lifeboat Stations and Museums in Norfolk and Suffolk which Ernie enjoyed supporting over many years.
"We at Great Yarmouth Potteries have made Limited Editions and souvenirs as fundraisers and to raise awareness for many of these Lifeboat Stations and Museums .
"Ernie has several paintings on display in the Southwold Alfred Corry Lifeboat Museum which of course, commemorates the Alfred Corry Lifeboat.
"His most recent painting was unveiled at a presentation ceremony at the museum at Easter 2019, just months before he passed away.
"Several of the people in the following photographs of the event on that day have also sadly passed away during the intervening couple of years.
"To prepare for the Easter event we travelled down to Southwold a few weeks earlier.
"Ernie, Yvonne and myself painted a seascape mural to fit under the keel of the lifeboat so it appeared that the boat was cutting through the waves.
"At the Easter unveiling, Roy accompanied us to take the following photo's of the event and that was where, in the Southwold Sailors' Reading Room, he took the photo used as the cover on Ernie's book
"My Thoughts On Canvas".
"When in May 2021 the museum finally got the all clear to open after the Covid lockdown, Yvonne and I volunteered to go down and clean the lifeboat after the renovations to the shed had taken place.
"If you find yourself in Southwold, please make a call to see if you can visit this very friendly museum right down on the river by the harbour entrance. You'll be glad you did!
"And right along the edge of the clifftop, just at the top of the rise from the pier you will find The Southwold Sailors' Reading Room. Most definitely worth a visit.
"I feel sure you'll also enjoy a look at the website of both the Museum and the Southwold Sailors' Reading Room. You can do so easily by clicking the links below".
"The organisers of The Alfred Corry Lifeboat Museum have kindly given us permission to publish these photo's here, and to provide a link to their website, which we do with pleasure.
